‘목소리로 잇는 문화의 다리’… 2025 오작교 프로젝트, 서울 시민·외국인 대상 수강생 모집
서울시 전통문화 발굴 및 계승사업의 일환으로 추진된 ‘2025 오작교 프로젝트: 오늘의 작은 판소리 교실’이 2024년에 이어 2025년에도 다시 시작된다. 지난해 외국인을 대상으로 진행된 본 프로그램은 서울에 거주 중인 다양한 국적의 성인들이 전통 성악예술 판소리를 통해 한국 문화를 몸소 배우고, 직접 무대에서 공연까지 펼치는 과정으로 많은 관심과 감동을 불러일으켰다.
특히 2024년에는 판소리의 기본 이론과 음률, 짧은 소리 익히기부터 남도민요 그리고 수료식과 작은 음악회까지 이어지는 다채로운 구성으로 수강생들의 호응을 얻었으며, 서울시민과 외국인의 문화 교류의 장으로서 그 성과를 인정받았다. 본 과정을 마친 수강생들은 “판소리를 통해 한국 문화와 정서를 깊이 있게 체험할 수 있었고, 소리로 사람들과 연결되는 소중한 경험이었다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
이에 힘입어 2025년에는 교육 대상을 서울시 거주 성인 시민과 외국인으로 확대하여 운영된다. 교육은 5월 11일부터 7월 27일까지 매주 일요일 저녁 6시부터 8시까지, 남산골한옥마을 민씨가옥에서 열리며, 전액 무료로 진행된다. 12회 전 과정을 성실히 수료한 참가자에게는 수료증과 기념품도 제공될 예정이다.
모집 인원은 선착순 20명이며, 신청 기간은 4월 22일(화)부터 5월 7일(수) 오후 6시까지이다. 접수는 하단의 QR코드를 통해 구글폼으로 간단히 신청 가능하다.
주최 측인 (사)세계판소리협회는 “작은 판소리 교실은 단순한 음악 수업을 넘어, 전통문화를 통한 인간적인 연결과 상호이해를 목표로 한다”며, “작년에 이어 올해도 참가자들이 ‘목소리’를 통해 서로를 이해하고 이어지는 소중한 시간들을 만들길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
‘오작교’는 까마귀와 까치가 다리를 놓아 사람과 사람을 이어주는 전설에서 따온 이름이다. 한국의 전통 판소리를 통해 국적과 세대를 뛰어넘는 문화 다리가 다시 놓이기를 기대해 본다.
2025 Ojakgyo Project Connects Cultures Through Korean Pansori
Following the success of the 2024 edition, the 2025 Ojakgyo Project: Today’s Small Pansori Class returns as part of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s traditional culture preservation initiative. This workshop invites both Korean citizens and foreign residents in Seoul to learn Pansori, a traditional Korean vocal art form, in a hands-on and culturally immersive experience.
Last year’s program was exclusively offered to foreign residents and gained wide acclaim for its comprehensive curriculum, which covered Pansori theory, rhythm, folk songs, and concluded with a final performance. Participants praised the project for allowing them to deeply connect with Korean culture and emotions through voice.
This year, the program expands to include both Korean and international participants. It will take place every Sunday from May 11 to July 27, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Min’s House in Namsangol Hanok Village. All sessions are free of charge, and those who complete all 12 sessions will receive a certificate and a commemorative gift.
Only 20 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications are open from April 22 to May 7, and registration is available via QR code.
Organized by the World Pansori Association Corp., the program aims to go beyond music instruction—creating cultural bridges and mutual understanding through the power of voice. The name Ojakgyo is derived from a Korean folktale in which magpies and crows build a bridge to reunite lovers—symbolizing the project's mission to connect people through traditional Korean music.
